Week 2
It's hard to imagine how much our crew has accomplished in just two short weeks, but seeing is believing.
All the walls and roof have come together perfectly. The New House has really taken shape.
Every construction project needs certain mandatory approvals along the way by city inspectors. This week was our "sheet and shear" inspection which verifies the framing structure of the building. In short, this intensive inspection verifies the framing and walls of the house are assembled correctly. We passed with flying colors. The walls and exterior sheathing are as solid as they look.
This week, we also installed our high-efficiency HVAC system (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), including all sheet metal work. The centerpiece of this system is our "whole house" fan, which quietly--but efficiently--keeps air circulating around the house for cooler summers and warmer winters.
Finally, the roof went up overhead including the felt, just in time to keep out a little rain over the weekend.
